1) There do not seem to be any hidden rooms or exits in the torture chamber, alas. Simply touching the torture equipment elicits no response; however, taking it apart, while possible, is a different story. Childe will find himself unusually clumsy every time he tries to break the equipment. A nail may slip and stab him in the palm here, or he may get a splinter there. Basically, taking apart the equipment results in "accidental" injuries! Only mild ones, but it sure is obnoxious. If Lumine tries to take apart the equipment, she'll suffer the same fate. It's like some kind of force is trying to prevent them from vandalism. . .!
2) The faces in the candles seem to change every time Lumine looks at one. Sometimes it's that of a young female with bobbed hair; sometimes it's that of an innocent looking teddy bear; sometimes it's that of a woman combined with a snake. Lumine will burn herself upon passing her fingers through the flames, because?? It's fire?? It's still hot!! The burn won't be too bad, though it may sting for a few days. But when it comes to blowing out the candles. . .
As soon as she does so, a piercing scream echoes throughout the area, ringing loudly in her ears and rattling her brain. The scream is so loud it hurts, and when it finally fades, Lumine will find herself unable to hear for one IC day. Oops :(
3) Rejoice Childe, there is no need to destroy the throne, for sitting upon it is enough to summon an angel to his side! The angel seems really bored with the whole affair and doesn't mind that Lumine and Childe are poking around and destroying the room. She speaks in a bored and monotone voice, and will answer all questions asked of her with a lengthy yawn or a roll of her eyes. If Childe or Lumine ask, however, she will tell the duo who she is ("Um, the Merciless Inquisitor, like, it's kind of a big deal name, right?") and also what the room is ("It's like. . . my sister's room, or whatever. . . she has horrible taste.") She doesn't seem very useful for information, but she's totally and 100% down for ragging on her sister's taste in decor! You can NPC this Shadow within the confines of the information I gave you.
The Merciless Inquisitor doesn't really have much desire to fight, though she will if either Lumine or Childe try to attack her first. She attacks primarily with light-based magic, and she is undefeatable; she's a Lvl 80 boss compared to Childe and Lumine being Lvl 20 heroes.
And at this point, I don't want to assume what your characters would do, so some follow up questions: 1) would they pick a fight with the Merciless Inquisitor? Whether they would or not, just let me know, and I'll give you the last bit of your exploration results!
