General notes: For the characters looking for evidence of past inhabitants: there is none! No writing on the walls, no notes left behind, no broken personal items. . . it's a creepy, run-down prison, but it really doesn't look like it's been used by anyone before the current group. Further, the faces in the candles will not be familiar to anyone. They shift from the faces of demonic women, to plush teddy bears, to monstrous beings. The faces may sneer and smile at the characters who are looking at them before vanishing, and every time a character looks into a candle, they will feel like they are being Observed.
JADE: The plant-life growing in the hallway is, in fact, just as sentient as the flowers in the courtyard. They will keep to themselves as the group passes by, though the flowers may lazily drift towards the direction of anyone who gets too close. They are a li'l bitey, and if Jade or anyone else touches them, they will CHOMP a good chunk of flesh from whatever body part they can reach. Unless someone bothers them, however, the vines won't go for anyone on their own! Which is funny for me to say considering something Sholmes is about to do.
MARIANNE: The candles can also be extinguished by simply blowing them out. . . however, the moment the candle is blown out, a piercing scream echoes throughout the hallway. The scream is so loud it hurts, and by the time the sound dies down, Marianne will find that she is unable to see for one IC day. O-oh no!
SHOLMES: He can jump on a cot! It's very rickety and old, so like. . . after two or three jumps it totally breaks underneath his weight. Some of the metal bits of the bed frame will probably cut him up :( WHAT DID YOU EXPECT JUMPING ON A COT, SHOLMES!!
He can also remove the plant life from the walls, but he MOMENT it does so, the flower will take a big CHOMP of flesh from whatever area of Sholmes it can reach. The vines around them also get incredibly violent and start attacking the group. They may even try to steal an eye! They like eyes!! The angry vines will result in mild injuries to everyone in the group; you can all determine the extent of those injuries to your liking.
The vines can be fought off (thank u Jade) and will stop being so angy the further the group moves away from the offended area.
Holmes may remove the manacles from the ceiling with ease; when he does so, and should he inspect them, he'll notice that there's an engraving on the inside of one of them: Till Death Do Us Part. Is this a wedding ring. . .
JUZO: All of the doors/bars are normal, and Juzo can bend/break them at will, without consequence. The candles are removable if he wants one, and he can indeed light a cigarette off of one, but why would you do that Juzo holy shit. For the moment he does light up a cigarette and inhale the smoke, he finds his mind flooded with a myriad of images. He is treated to visions of all kinds of violent, monstrous creatures-- minotaurs, sphinxes, mermaids, dragons, you name it-- most of them spattered in blood or even feasting upon human remains. These images don't inspire a feeling of disgust, though. . . he feels. . . fondness. Kinship. A kind of familial closeness that cannot be explained.
When the images cease, he will hear the echoes of two words spoken in an unrecognizable voice-- I do-- in the back of his mind before he blacks out. The rest of Phoenix will probably have to drag him back to the dorm.
