It takes some effort, but the key CAN be stolen from the Black Avenger. They will immediately be furious with the theft of their key and ramp up their attacks; what they have in offense, however, they lack in defense, and if someone in the group is swift they can use the key to unlock a morgue box.

Whoever does will have to touch the morgue box to do so, and will come away with a more serious case of frostbite that should probably be treated with some magical healing. But opening the box unleashes a very large pulse of energy, accompanied by an anguished, grief-stricken cry. The room is immediately filled with the anguish and sorrow of loss, an emotion so powerful it renders the Black Avenger motionless.

Inside the morgue box is a bloodied blade. The blade can be removed from the room, and the Black Avenger being stunned will give the group enough time to escape, should they choose to do so. If they do not escape on their own, then the Black Avenger will vanish first, leaving the group to wallow in the emotions they've released.
