DROPPING/HIATUSING

The IC drop mechanic

Characters find that their possession is becoming too hard for them to control! To protect them and the others in the Edge of Reverie, the Warden whisks them away to solitary confinement, where they remain fast asleep on a comfortable bed in her direct care. There is a book with images of previously dropped characters for those to peruse ICly, just so they can be sure their loved ones are safe and sound. A list of characters that can be found in the book is right over here. If you'd like to keep access to the game for reading threads and such, just make sure to let us know in your drop form somewhere!

The IC hiatus mechanic

This is a little more flexible! If you have to hiatus, it's okay to put your character on auto-pilot for a while, and say that they've been nebulously around doing whatever it is they wish to do. If you need to take your character out of play, you can get pretty creative about how you do it: you can have your character buried in a grave for a few days for some weird inexplainable reason, or they can just get lost in the village somewhere. It's also okay to say they fell asleep for a few IC days, or fell ill and couldn't get out of bed. If you can't think of a creative way to take them out of play, then you can say they got drowsy and the Warden whisked them off to Solitary Confinement for a short period of time.

PLEASE NOTE: You can hiatus and be exempt from AC for ONE month. If you call a hiatus for January, you don't have to fill out January's AC; however, you MUST fill out February's. If you have extenuating circumstances that require a longer hiatus, please email the mod inbox at directrice.inbox@gmail.com to let us know. We will be flexible with you, don't worry!

Length of Hiatus: January. I've realized I haven't had the time or energy to focus on RP very much, especially since I've been sick, and I doubt I'm going to make it before the end of the month. My apologies.
