TEAMS

How many teams does this game have?

The game currently has ten normal teams and one team that will act as the "game-running NPCs" team. The soft cap for all teams is eight to ten characters. Eight is the preferred number, so if a team has eight people on it I likely won't be making placements on that team anymore. However, if all teams have eight characters, then I will place ninth and tenth characters onto each team to avoid a queue. I will not place more than ten characters on a team at one time. This cap applies to Echidna, too!

During the app process I'll be asking you to list your top three teams, and nine times out of ten you'll get your first choice. If you don't get that first choice, it'll be due to me trying to keep teams even, sweats. But if you really do only have ONE TRUE TEAM in mind for the character you're apping, just say so! If the team is already at ten characters, I may ask you to wait a bit until a spot opens up.

Team swapping

Characters can ICly swap teams whenever they want, and you can OOCly swap your character to a new team if necessary! There will be OOC restrictions on this so people aren't swapping like. . . every week, but I do understand that sometimes IC (or even OOC) reasons require a team swap and want the option to be openly available.

If your character is choosing to swap teams in character, then all they have to do is pick the option on their phone app an wait for the swap to transfer.

If you need to swap your character for out of character reasons, then the swap happens against a character's IC will. They will suddenly be whisked way to solitary confinement for like, five seconds, before the Warden realizes she grabbed the wrong character and goes "hm oops" and sends them back to the village in new team colors.

Right now, all characters can swap teams once and only once! Swaps generally occur when there is a new slot on a team, and you may be waiting a month or so for that slot to open, so please be patient!

The team swapping mechanic, though it is available IC, exists mostly for OOC player comfort and harmony reasons. I won't assume that my team sorting is perfect cries, and some characters may find themselves vibing with another team better than the team I placed them on. Because of this, if your character would ICly swap teams when you don't want them to, the team swap can be blocked on an IC and OOC level for your OOC desires. Just let me know by shooting an email to the mod that you need an IC team swap blocked OOCly and I will make it happen! I just want everyone to be happy and comfortable on an OOC level so rainbowhands.

Although it isn't an official policy, if you do want to swap teams it is good courtesy to make sure all players on that team are OOCly cool with you swapping to it. If this does become a problem in the future I will make it an official policy, but like. Basically I'm trusting you all to communicate and talk with one another for things like this HAHA.

PHOENIX

Phoenix, the immortal bird of flame. In ashes it dies, and in ashes it is reborn again. A mysterious fire flashes from its eye, and a flaming aureole enriches its head.

SPHINX

Sphinx, a mythical chimera with the head of a human, the body of a lion, and the wings of a falcon. A benevolent guardian with ferocious strength, known to guard the entrances of temples across the world.

CERBERUS

Cerberus, the three-headed guardian of the land of the dead. Nasty is his bark, and nasty is his bite. Like a fury, he is fortified by a hundred snakes, with a triple-tongued mouth oozing fetid breath and gore.

YATAGARASU

Yatagarasu, the three-legged crow who represents the sun. The appearance of this great bird is construed as evidence of the will of Heaven or divine intervention in human affairs.

Bugbear, a legendary hobgoblin used to terrify young children into behaving. Large and hairy, and intimidating in his stature. Before you lay your head down to rest, be sure to check under your bed.

Basilisk, the legendary reptile who can cause death with a single glance. Said to be the king of all serpents. All who behold its eyes fall dead upon the spot.

NYMPH

Nymph, the playful and mischievous personifications of nature. Beloved by many, they dwell in specific areas related to the natural environment and participate in the retinue of many gods.

KRAKEN

Kraken, the legendary sea monster who terrorizes sailors, pirates, and navy men alike. A large squid whose tentacles can easily crush a man alive. There are only a very few who can speak upon it clearly, because it is seldom near land nor appears where it may be seen by fishermen.

TSUCHIGUMO

Tsuchigumo, the monstrous spider yokai. It is said to live in the mountains, where it feasts upon the bodies of men who dare encroach on its territory. Within its belly slumbers thousands of smaller spiders, each the size of a human child.

UNICORN

Unicorn, the legendary one-horned horse-beast, a symbol of purity and grace. Their horn is said to have the power to render poisoned water potable and to heal sickness.

Team outfits

All characters will arrive in striped prison uniforms with stripes that correspond with their team colors. Otherwise, clothing acquired in the game is not forced to be in team colors.
