[TEST DRIVE #1]
"Sit up straight, Inmate! Do you slouch like that in front of your mother? Have some self-respect-- no one else is going to have it for you!"PROMPT I: Respect for the Dead (???)
The demanding voice rouses you from your slumber. In the blink of an eye, you've found yourself some place. . . different! Let's take a brief look into what your new life as an inmate at the Edge of Reverie will entail.
[This month, your assignment from the Warden is. . . to go grave robbing?? Some elaborate and lavish mausoleums have appeared in the cemetery, and if you could somehow get inside, there's probably plenty of treasure for you to pilfer. The only problem is that each and ever mausoleum is shut tightly with an iron-barred gate. Perhaps those with super strength of mad lockpicking skills can brute force their way inside?]
[Once you do manage to get inside, you'll find some treasure! Everything from golden jewelry to fancy clothing to elaborate artwork. . . it's all yours for the taking! Except. . . when you touch it, you start to feel kind of. . . weird?]
[Jewelry: You start to feel very envious of what those around you have that you have not. And no matter how hard you try to quash that envy, you just want to take their stuff for yourself.
Clothing: You feel very vain, and just have to show off to those you meet. Look at this coat, isn't it to die for? You worked sooooo hard to get it! Wouldn't they love to have one of these for themselves? Haha, it's too bad that they can't!
Artwork: The entire world suddenly seems oh-so beautiful, and you simply must express this fact. That person you're talking to? They're gorgeous, and all you want to do is hold their hand or touch their cheek or play with their hair. Wow, who knew art could make someone so touchy-feely?
Misc: Feel free to make up your own effect that's associated with some kind of objects that doesn't fall into one of the categories above! Any type of compulsion will do, be it harmless and silly or dangerous and maybe a little violent. Have fun!]
PROMPT II: Get Jiggy With It
[The jukebox in Theo's diner is blasting some tunes today! It cycles from song to song, some of them low and melancholy, and some of them upbeat and bouncy. And some of them might sound familiar. . .?]
[Either way, as soon as you hear the music, your body starts to move on its own volition in time to the music. Whoa! It's time to dance!! The only way to clear the compulsion to dance is to find a partner and boogie down. But hey, maybe this is a great way to meet new people?]
PROMPT III: Team Bonding. . .?
[So. . . you're locked in your dorm. With the other members of your team. And with the instructions, so "helpfully" provided by the Warden, to get to know each other better. Today is going to be a fun day!!]
[At least there's a helpful list of team building activities posted on the (locked) front door to give you some guidance:]
[1) Do a trust fall!
2) Play charades!
3) Ask someone a super embarrassing question!
4) Give someone a kiss!
5) Punch someone in the face!!]
[. . . hm! Well! You can also make up other "team-building" exercises as you wish, and assume they are also on the list. Have fun!!]
PROMPT IV: La Lune
[You know what they say about monsters and the full moon, right? Well. . . tonight, the clocktower's hands have shifted: the hour hand points to XIII, and the minute hand points to V. Tonight's moon is bright and crisp and clear in the sky, and whatever possession has a hold of you may be a little. . . ah. Stronger than it normally is]
[Those with full-on possessions may find themselves temporarily controlled by whatever entity is residing in their body. Those with nothing more than monster instincts may find them wishing to follow their ID more often than not-- a little nibble on someone here or there, nothing more. And those who are fortunate enough to still 100% be themselves will be. . . well. Unaffected! Aren't you lucky?]
[Be careful. Life in the Edge of Reverie isn't all fun and games.]
PROMPT V: The Wildcard
[Make up your own prompts! You can use any part of the setting as inspiration. Have fun!]
---
OOC READ ME: You can pick whatever team and monster you want for your character and go with it for the TDM! At this point, however, TDM threads will not be canon since teams and monsters aren't official yet.
The game will open on October 2 at some nebulous time!! Whenever I wake up and feel like posting the intro log, basically.
Apps are now open, but I won't be responding to them until closer to the 2nd. Probably I'll have all initial teams sorted and done by the 1st but waggles hands. WHENEVER I GET TO IT, REALLY.
Also, please bear in mind the invite policy for this game. Thank you so much for your interest, and have fun!
ETA: CELI MADE A DISCORD SO FEEL FREE TO JOIN!!

[anyway he's twirling Minato around now!!]
I hope my sick moves meet their full approval.
no subject
He's twirled so easily and his body ends up going with it, and he was not at all prepared for this.
If this was P3d he'd do a sick back handspring or something, but it's not and he's a noodle so he cannot.]
I'll keep you posted.
You're pretty okay with all of this happening without your permission, though.
no subject
[and yes, he does seem very chill with this]
Oh no, I'm totally freaking out on the inside.
[is. . . is he? his tone is so flat it's hard to tell??]
But I also figure with things like this, it's better to just go with the flow.
no subject
Oh, I see. I guess you're not wrong. Sorry you have to deal with all of this then. If the dancing curse ever leaves us, hopefully you can take a breather.
no subject
. . . why are you apologizing like you're the one who cursed me to dance?
[weirdo??]
no subject
[This is a weird conversation to have while dancing.]
no subject
But. . . you're being compelled to dance, too??
[MINATO YOU'RE IN THIS SITUATION ALONGSIDE HIM??]
no subject
Whoa.
[Anyway!! Then he shrugs, even as he's being dipped.]
I am, I guess, but I'm okay with it. It's not that big of a deal for me. So I guess I was more worried about you.
no subject
[swings Minato upright again, one brow raised as he immediately steps back into the tango]
Are you the kind of guy who takes everything someone says super seriously?
no subject
I guess so. [Can't deny that!] I'd rather be overcautious than not believe you, I think.
[and also he's dense. gullible. easy.]
no subject
I guess I do have an extremely dry sense of humor.
[his lips twitch in amusement]
But I was joking about freaking out. All things considered, this is pretty-- ah. Tame?
[COMPARED TO LIKE. EVERYTHING ELSE IN HIS LIFE]
no subject
... You must live a very exciting life.
I think a lot of this is probably very weird.
no subject
Nah. My life's super boring.
[HA HA. HA]
I'm just very. . . adaptable.
no subject
Minato pauses, and then suddenly he has to take charge of the ballroom dance, twirling Akira so that he can snag one of the feathers out of the air.
He pauses to admire it, because honestly--]
Your feathers are pretty. [don't be weird, minato
A-NY-WAY.]
But... I guess I admire your adaptability then. I'm still adjusting to all of this.
[He says with a perfect lineface]
1/2
Ah--
[DON'T BE WEIRD, MINATO??]
no subject
Thanks.
[HE THINKS]
And I'd never guess you were having problems adjusting. You seem. . . composed.
no subject
Oh.
[He sounds like he didn't realize that.]
I guess so. My life's been pretty weird, so I think I can cope with this so far.
no subject
Has it. . .
[HN. at this point he is automatically slipping back into leading the dance, should Minato let him]
Well. You've proven that you're tough enough to withstand an impromptu tango-slash-ballroom dance, so--
You must be a little tough.
[LIGHTLY TEASING]
no subject
Hm... I don't know if I'd go that far. I think I'm pretty average.
[Unsurprisingly.]
Average enough that my feet are starting to hurt already from all of this dancing.
no subject
Ah. . . mine too, actually.
. . . I wonder when we can stop?
[probably ages ago he just got caught up in conversation so he did not realize]
