About the shop app
A new app has appeared on everyone's phones! It's called The Prison Shop, and opening it up reveals an online shop with all sorts of goodies for sale. Right now the pickings seem rather slim, but hey. . . perhaps stock will expand as time goes on?
All characters have to do in order to purchase something from the shop is click on it. The purchase will occur automatically, and any won tokens will vanish into thin air. The character will then magically receive a card with the appropriate Arcana on the front. These cards can be used at any time. Once used up, the card will burst into blue fire (that isn't hot) and burn away into ashes.
For purchased permanent abilities, characters will still have to activate them by using the card, but the abilities will remain even after the card is gone.

Please do not comment to this post telling me what your character is buying UNLESS you are buying Death, Moon, the Universe, or the Bondsman. The Prison Shop is not meant to be heavily moderated and I trust you guys to keep track of your own stuff!
"But Al," you say, "At one token a won game, some of these will take months to earn!" YES, YOU ARE CORRECT, and that is the point! I want to emphasize that the Prison Shop exists to give IC motivation to play in and win games. It exists to give characters something to ICly strive towards, if they're the type who is motivated by working towards a concrete goal beyond just "going home" (be it gained powers, or the ability to heal/protect others, or the desire to learn more about the world, or the desire to make a wish and fix a mistake made at home). Your character's team doesn't have to win games, and you don't have to play with this aspect of the game OOCly if you don't want to, so please don't fuss if your team doesn't win many of them. It's okay! I promise! Characters cannot pool their tokens to buy things from the shop. They can, however, buy something for another character using their own tokens if they wish.
It's okay to randomize a power purchase if your character would not choose a power you want them to have ICly! You can say they purchased the ability and then bam, sudden power was given to them, that's totally and completely fine. It's also okay to do things like butt purchases if you want your character to buy something but they wouldn't. Follow your heart (THE MOTTO OF THE GAME) and, as always, do what is most OOCly fun!
Echidna Tokens
What if my character would save up game tokens for a wish, but I want to buy something like monster powers for them?
Have no fear! I have a solution to this problem! As of IC Day 11, Echidna can now give out token quests to characters on normal teams. Successful completion of a token quest earns the character one Echidna token, which can be used to purchase something from the shop that is worth no more than two tokens. Characters can acquire two Echidna tokens per OOC month via the quest method.
Echidna tokens EXPIRE at the end of the OOC month they were gained in. So basically, your character can't really have more than two Echidna tokens at once, which encourages them to spend them quickly!
Playing with quests and Echidna tokens is completely optional OOCly. This is for people whose characters would not spend game tokens, but who also want to give their characters monster powers or whatnot. Keep track of your own tokens please, and mind the limits of two tokens per OOC month and all Echidna tokens expire at the end of the OOC month in which they were acquired.

these aren't ic i'm just BRAINSTORMING
- a new room/addition to their dorm (though maybe this is also a suggestion box thing?)
- vehicles/mounts (........ it seems a bit big to get a truck out of the box but it's a pretty cool box...)
- a monster switch (EXORCISM?)
- a meeting with the warden/other
