For the canon update question, please refer to the answer I gave here! If you need a mechanic to canon update, let me know and I'll figure something out for you ♥

As for the second question, the powers in the shop aaaaare supposed to be attached to your monster and their lore somehow, so something that is completely unrelated to it couldn't be purchased :( I am trying to be flexible with monsters and how they manifest in order to make things fun for people, but sadly I think I have to draw the line there!
