hi al! if i wanted to buy a monster ability that is healing (unicorn blood healing properties etc) would that be empress or emperor (if it matters) OR do i do the lovers for it every time

fwiw i wasn't thinking anything crazy with it though NOT LIKE DRINKING IT MAKES YOU IMMORTAL ANYTHING....

IT DOESN'T MATTER, I'm not keeping track, so! Whichever one you want it to fall under is fine!

FYI though that a healing ability acquired that way would be nerfed as per healing powercapping rules! o7

when buying The Emperor or The Empress from the token shop, does the character determine what the power/ability is themselves, or is it like. pick between a mental power or a physical power and then you get what you get?

Either/or! If you want your character to ICly choose, they can! However, if you don't want them to choose and want to leave it up to IC chance for hilarity's sake, that's fine, too.

okay SO THE HEALY THINGS IN THE TOKEN SHOP since they're ICly bought and used, and our characters may have different objectives than we do oocly, can we have an option that's just like... "okay your character buys this and uses it but it just DOESN'T WORK for some reason"?

If someone buys 'The Lovers', does the healing have to be used on them or can it be used on another person?

If one wanted to hypothetically kick in the loudspeaker, where is it located? I couldn't find this referenced on any of the setting information so I wasn't sure if the loudspeaker was in an inaccessible place or such. I know when it comes to prisons, they're usually attached to the walls but I wanted to double check before making assumptions.

Yeah, the loudspeakers are attached to walls, close up by the ceilings of every building. So Horse might have a tough time reaching them to kick them.

oops i have another question

bc i gave wataru amnesia i had the idea that him getting the unicorn blood heal power would start to recover his memories (as it is slowly healing him) BUT should i buy it with the memory option in the shop?

i thought that the memory option in the shop was something special because you want to be notified when it's bought and there's not a lot of amnesiacs in the game rn BUT I JUST WANTED TO BE SURE

YOU ARE CORRECT, it is something special! So nah, don't save up for that one for Wataru to get his memories back. I think you can buy healing blood with emperor/empress and do something like, every time he uses the healing blood a memory returns? Or however else you'd like for it to work!

Also this is me just going wild with ideas and feel free to tell me to sit the fuck down, since you've already said PG/CRAU isn't allowed for the time being (for very valid and understandable reasons), HOWEVER, if you ever change your stance on this later down the line, would it be possible to "canon update" characters to a point where they regain PG memories? For example I am apping Leo as a blank slate and plan to play him that way, but when/IF that changes, would it be possible for him to remember all his other stuff from other games, whether through tokens or some other means?

Like I said it's cool if the answer is no, but I had a thought about this and my mind ran wild.

If a character purchases The Magician from the prison shop what does that power look like/how strong is it? For example if I bought it and picked ice as the element, is it a general ability to make/manipulate ice according to the character's imagination, or is it being able to cast a range of set ice spells (like, Bufu through to Mabufudyne), or just one spell per purchase, or...?

It's whatever you want to play with, honestly! So it can be creating/manipulating ice, or it can be casting BUFUDYNE - whatever is most fun for you to play with OOCly! The standard power cap applies ofc; so it can be pretty powerful ice magic when used in a fight but it's not gonna be SO POWERFUL IT CAN FREEZE ALL OF REVERIE, if that makes sense.

So in canon Geto's thing is that he can exorcise cursed spirits and then eat them to like, assimilate and use them at will. He's like his own Pokemon PC where he stores 74389345376 terrible pokemon.

Anyway following this logic I just had him exorcise one of the graveyard skeletons that Wei Wuxian revived for him for science and now he's gonna eat it, so the questions are:

- Would he be able to keep it as one of his cursed pokemon to randomly summon and use?
- What... does the skeleton taste like. (JJK curses taste like the grossest shit in the world bc they are made of people's negative emotions, but I assume that might not be the case here, so... yes.)

1) Yeh he can keep the spooky scary skeleton for his own use! It doesn't like to fight though :( It, however, LOVES to dance. eta: BEAR IN MIND HE CAN ONLY KEEP ONE SKELETON THIS WAY, if he tries to gain another it won't work, or his first skeleton will vanish, etc etc.

2) The skeleton tastes like a cheeseburger. "Al did you use the first food that came to mind" yeh.

Annoying WoL question here!!

So the Warrior of Light (as do many other folks in FFXIV canon) have a blessing called "The Echo" which varies in ability but is generally the ability to look into a person's past and re-live experiences as them, or work as an auto-translate of sorts at times. It varies from person to person (like someone seeing an immediate future or some version of their past without embodying them etc) and in general has the ability to protect someone from immediate possession by another entity too (like mind-breaking style)

It also seems to only trigger in moments of high emotional states with others, so the WoL sees such memories at random and has little control over when they trigger and their clarity varies. (Some are very clear, some are very static-y etc depending on the person)

Because of this, I can have these Echo visions not pop at all (unless someone gives permission) but I wanted to know if there would be any limitations to them here! I rolled with it not interfering with the monster possession, but otherwise!

Obviously I wouldn't have the visions occur without asking the players, but! Plz guide ;_;

SORRY FOR THE BELATED REPLY, but it's totally cool for you to keep this ability re: memory sharing! Just do it with OOC permission, and you can blame it not happening if someone doesn't want it on the power cap. ♥

Naturally, the part about interfering with possession won't work in Reverie, but the rest is totally fine!

This probably will not be relevant for a while but I wanted to ask about it just in case! Is there a mechanic in place for canon updating characters if we want to push them forward to a different canon point, or would we just need to drop and reapp from the new canon point we wanted?

Iiiii have yet to come up with a canon update mechanic LMFAO, but canon updating will be an option should someone want to do so! Just shoot me an email and I'll work something out!

I honestly probably won't app a second and won't need to know this anyway but regarding the healing/item crafting powercap,

I have a character I am considering apping but ze is actually like. a whale-sized shadow void blob. because ze is a shapeshifter ze is able to appear humanoid through focus, and ze CAN be hit or cut and does feel pain from it. but ze... doesn't have actual skin or blood or internal organs... so while ze can sort of be physically hurt I'm not sure what to do about the healing cap with physiology that can't really sustain wounds in the first place

MY POSSIBLE IDEAS WOULD BE:
1. ze is still a shadow void blob through and through, but if wounded that portion of hir body will just stay cut/crushed/whatever and ze will be unable to close it up or mold it into a different shape for a while as it has to 'repair' itself
2. ze is still a shadow void but instead of a whale blob hir 'default' form will become a humanoid form with approximations of organs and so on. hir body will probably be closer to a scale model of a human body and not really work the same way in regards to bleeding or blood flow or anything but would be able to sustain injury more similarly. there's even some extra solid voidy shit posing as a breakable skeleton
3. BECAUSE ZE WAS ORIGINALLY A REGULAR HUMAN, ZE COULD ALSO MAYBE JUST BE YEETED BACK INTO HIR ORIGINAL HUMAN BODY. HOWEVER if I did go this route I would still want access to hir other shadow voidy powers like traveling through people's shadows and using hir voidy shit as an endless hammerspace and having tentacles, and I would still be playing hir from much MUCH later in life as far as canon point goes

DO YOU HAVE ANY THOUGHTS/PREFERENCES/OTHER IDEAS

re: item crafting ze also 'canonically' just shapeshifts clothes onto hirself but would that also be a no-go (ftr ze would not use this to make other items regardless, just clothes)

So I kinda really wasn't expecting major changes from Season 2 of Centaurworld. And boy howdy were there.

How does canon updating work here?

Also while, I'm asking questions, Horse's monster is a hippogriff but I was contemplating an effect that could temporarily make her human. This isn't technically attached to hippogriff lore. Would it be possible to purchase that as an ability from the prison shop? I would probably have to make it an accidental purchase since she would never ask for it on purpose.

As for the second question, the powers in the shop aaaaare supposed to be attached to your monster and their lore somehow, so something that is completely unrelated to it couldn't be purchased :( I am trying to be flexible with monsters and how they manifest in order to make things fun for people, but sadly I think I have to draw the line there!

questions about Priestess:

1. what actually happens when Priestess is in effect on a character and then something happens which otherwise would have hurt them. ex if someone stabs them with the sword does the sword go through them, is it deflected and bounces off, etc.

2. if they are stabbed with a sword REPEATEDLY does it defend against just the first stab or does it count all the stabs as one collective instance of damage and defend against all of them

3. can it accidentally be wasted on minor damage, like if you buy Priestess and then get punched in the face two hours before the stabbing incident would it just protect against getting punched in the face. how major does the damage have to be to trigger the effect? or can characters choose whether to let it activate against the face punch or save it for more severe damage later?

Reim is planning to cover a full team in Priestesses in preparation for the game results which will probably be a separate issue but I also just got curious in a general sense

1. It'll deflect and bounce off like a shield!

2. It protects only from the first stab, not multiple stabs.

3. LMFPASOJDF YES IT CAN but I'll leave that one up to player discretion! Generally the Priestess has to be used with IC intent so if you get punched in the face but aren't actively invoking the Priestess's protection, it won't protect against the punch and can be used later on to defend against a stab, but if you OOCly think it'd be funny to waste the protection against he punch and not the stab, then go for it! Whatever is most fun OOCly is key.

AND IN ADVANCE:

4. The Priestess will not work against game punishments! That may not necessarily be true for EVERY game punishment, but it will be for this one. That's OOC knowledge tho so feel free to pursue this avenue ICly-- it won't waste your Priestess's protection in case you do!

To not bog down the suggestion box I figured it would be easier to just ask here but I know the rules are not bigger than a person so I wanted to make sure because it is a Larger Thing but Sharon wants to get Elliot a much deserved piano (the one I'm thinking of is the smallest grand piano size called a spinet like so. I know it is technically shorter than a person at just over three feet tall and like. Large Human weight, but it is Bulky and wide so before I got ahead of myself I still wanted to confirm whether or not something like that would be legal.

YES YOU CAN! The only time you can't combine Echidna tokens with normal tokens is when you're buying an item worth more than 2 tokens, nods. But you can se a normal token and an Echidna token to buy, say, a monster power.

It is perfectly fine if they're a robot or part robot, yes! It is exactly like if a character is a canon monster or canon non-human. They will still be possessed by another monster, but their canon physical species/form/shape won't change if you don't want it to :|b

DO POKEMON MOVES COUNT AS PHYSICAL/MENTAL POWERS that can be regained if your possessing monster is a Pokemon jw

Also along those lines would Rest already be nerfed enough to be fine to regain as a healing monster power (only able to use it on himself and has to fall asleep for a long period of time for it to work)? Like would this basically just count as auto-regeneration and leave scars and lost limbs behind and also naptime?

And yes you can regain Rest as a healing power! It would count as auto-regen and leave scars/lost limbs/etc, but it can def heal injuries like normal auto-regen can.

re: dorm upgrades:

are there any specifics we should know about this? it seems to be done similarly to the bigger setting changes, just with a bunch of the team piping in instead? does the person who starts it use up their box request for the month if they do so?

and re: redecorating character rooms:

is there any limits on this? do you want to see what i'd come up with before approving it, etc? can i make my room super huge and give it windows that overlook space. can i make my room a beach. can i give my room a death pit full of spikes. that sort of nonsense.

1) it's the same as bigger setting upgrades, yeh! once more than half the dorm chimes in the team gets their upgrade. and no, the person requesting does not use up their monthly item request!

2) GOD I HADN'T THOUGHT THIS FAR UUUUH for now what I'd recommend is typing up what you want and adding it to the setting page and I can y/n it there. i think the limitations are like. . . something reasonable YOU CAN PROBABLY NOT HAVE A ROOM THAT IS SUPER HUGE AND OVERLOOKS SPACE, OR MAKE IT A BEACH, SINCE THOSE ARE LIKE ENTIRELY NEW AREAS. but the death pit full of spikes is super okay b/c it will fit in a normal room. if that makes sense!!

hello i have headmonster/"power" questions

1. demons/djinn lore sometimes states that you can bind them to you/to do your bidding if you know their "true name". is this something i would be able to keep off the bat? i don't know for sure if it would be considered a "power" as when it comes right down to it, it would be entirely detrimental to my character(/s). on the other hand it would kind of count as a "power" for the other party because they would have control. on the other OTHER hand i don't know if it would count as a power to be purchased because, once again, it is detrimental to the demon/djinn.

2. if i app a djinn and they are bound to an item (like a magic lamp but it's not a lamp) can that item come with them? it's like a wheelchair except it sucks

1. i'mmmmm waffling on this one; i think it'd be okay to keep off the bat b/c it'd be funny and fun to play with, but i don't think it'd be the kind of thing that really gives the other party "power" to like. . . control the other person? like they can't say "go clean my room" and force the other person to clean their room, since that kind of is a special ability. did you have any specific ideas on how you wanted to play with another party having control over the demon/djinn? I'D LIKE TO KEEP IT but i can't think of any way that would work with the game lore :|a but if you have an idea please share!!
